This Hydro-Active Wound Dressing is made from 30% medical grade honey. It provides a moist environment conducive to wound healing. This product is flexible and water resistant so it can be used while showering or swimming. Ideal for smaller superficial cuts, abrasions, wounds and minor burns.
L-Mesitran Active dressing is indicated for acute and chronic superficial wounds such as:Cuts
First and Second Degree Burns
Venous and Arterial Ulcera
Other Traumatic Wounds
Do not use on deep, narrow cavities
Do not use on dirty wounds
Do not use on third-degree burns
Do not use on fistulae
Honey, Purified Water, Acrylamide polymers, Polyurethane

Prior to using for the first time:1) Open the tube by removing the cap, and clean the mouth of the tube and the top of the cap with an alcohol swab.2) Remove the aluminum seal that covers the nozzle. Do not squeeze the tube at this time.
Applying to the wound:1) Use a sterile spatula to distribute a thin layer of the gel either directly to the wound bed or onto a suitable secondary dressing such as a gauze pad or island dressing.2) Use an appropriate secondary dressing to cover the gel.
Dressing changes and removal:
Warnings:DO NOT USE IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO HONEY.Keep out of the reach of children. Store between 41 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit, protect from light, heat and moisture.Consult your physician if signs of infection occur (redness, swelling or high fever etc.). Due to this products low pH some people may notice a slight transient stinging upon application. If stinging persists and can not be managed with an analgesic, remove the dressing, cleanse area and discontinue use.
- Changing the dressing will depend on the condition of the wound as well as the level of wound exudate.
- Reapply when the gel is no longer visible or as directed by your wound care professional.
- Moisten with sterile saline if the wound bed appears dry before removal of the dressing.
- Remove the dressing from the wound bed gently (Do not tear).
- Cleanse the wound bed prior to application of a new dressing.
